OUR IMPACT
Vortex Fire is proud to contribute to the City of Toronto's latest affordable housing initiative, which aims to create 1,000 new modular homes in Toronto.
Located at 11 Macey Avenue, this three-story rental apartment building comprises 56 studio apartments, common rooms, a dining room, program spaces, and administrative offices. This affordable housing project supports individuals transitioning out of homelessness by providing affordable homes with support services. The building was constructed using innovative modular construction techniques and opened on December 19, 2020, approximately eight months after receiving approval from City Council. Vortex Fire served as the building code and fire engineering consultant for this project.
