Aurora Public Library

Aurora Public Library consists of two levels, an atrium, a basement area, and it is 44,375 square feet in size. The library has a collection of more than 150,000 items and has over 31,000 registered users.  Completed in 2001, the Aurora Public Library was designed by Moriyama and Teshima Architects and marked the relocation of the area’s main branch to the corner of Yonge and Church Street in Aurora. The renovation included the construction of a new entrance and elevator on the ground floor level along with an addition of two multipurpose rooms, lounge and roof space connecting the existing portion via a corridor on the 2nd floor.  Vortex Fire was the building code consultant and assisted with the compliance review for the Ontario Building Code Part 3 and Part 11.
