Centennial College – Progress Campus A Block
Centennial College of Applied Arts and Technology is a renowned, diploma- and degree-granting college, located in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. This project will not only form the new face of Centennial’s A-Block, but it will also serve as a distinctive gateway to the College’s Progress Campus. The six-storey, mass timber addition, will provide one hundred and fifty thousand gross square feet of space, which also includes renovations to the existing A-Block building. The building will be constructed of Cross Laminated Timber (CLT) and glue-laminated beam and columns (glulam.)
Vortex Fire Consulting was the Building Code Consultant for this project. As the Building Code Consultant, Vortex Fire Consulting developed a safe approach in the use of mass timber, while adhering to, and maintaining compliance with the Ontario Building Code.
