The Art Gallery of Sudbury was established in 1967 as a Centennial project of the Sudbury and District Chamber of Commerce.
The new 104,000sf Junction East building, houses the Greater Sudbury Central Public Library, the Art Gallery of Sudbury, the Sudbury Multicultural and the Folk Arts Association; the building aims to be a key cultural campus for the City of Sudbury.
Vortex Fire is the building code consultant for the project and has assisted in the evaluation of various massing and integration approaches, including fire safety strategy for the interconnected floor space and spatial separation between buildings.
