ISO 17020:2012 & IAS AC291 Special Inspection Agency (SIA)

Vortex Fire (Dubai and Abu Dhabi) are accredited by the International Accreditation Service (IAS) to undertake independent third-party inspections in accordance with:

• ISO 17020:2012 Conformity Assessment – Requirements for the Operation of Various Types of Bodies Performing Inspection
• AC291 Accreditation Criteria for Special Inspection Agencies

Getting accredited involves an assessment of our inspection procedures, the competence of our inspection staff, and our reporting procedures. Vortex Fire (Dubai and Abu Dhabi) have demonstrated competence to perform special inspections required as per the UAE Fire and Life Safety Code of Practice (2018 Edition), 2013 Abu Dhabi International Building Code (ADIBC), 2018 International Building Code (IBC) and NFPA 5000 Building Construction and Safety Code (2018 Edition).

The ISO 17020: 2012 and IAS AC291 accreditation is a mandatory requirement as per the UAE Fire and Life Safety Code of Practice for House of Expertise or any consultant or engineer undertaking an independent third-party inspection of fire systems.
