ISO 17020:2012 & IAS AC98 Inspection Agency (AA)

Vortex Fire (Dubai and Abu Dhabi) are accredited by the International Accreditation Service (IAS) to undertake independent third-party inspections in accordance with:

• ISO 17020:2012 Conformity Assessment – Requirements for the Operation of Various Types of Bodies Performing Inspection
• AC98 Accreditation Criteria for Inspection Agencies

Getting accredited involves an assessment of our inspection procedures, the competence of our inspection staff, and our reporting procedures. Vortex Fire has demonstrated competence to perform special inspections required as per the UAE Fire and Life Safety Code of Practice (2018 Edition), 2013 Abu Dhabi International Building Code (ADIBC), 2021 International Building Code (IBC), NFPA 5000 Building Construction and Safety Code (2024 Edition) and 2018 Saudi Building Code (SBC).

The ISO 17020: 2012 accreditation is a mandatory requirement as per the UAE Fire and Life Safety Code of Practice for the House of Expertise or any consultant or engineer undertaking an independent third-party inspection of fire systems.
Vortex Fire is accredited for Passive Fire Stopping Systems, Fire Door Assembly, SFRM (Cementitious Spray) and Intumescent Paint and Façade & Roofing Systems. We have also extended our accreditation to include Fire Sprinkler and Standpipe Systems.
