Vortex Fire (Dubai) receives IAS AC291 & ISO 17020 accreditation for independent third-party passive fire and facade inspection services

In addition to ISO 9001 certification, our specialist independent third-party passive fire and facade inspection services are now accredited by International Accreditation Service (IAS).  This confirms our inspection services are in accordance with:

• ISO 17020:2012 Conformity Assessment – Requirements for the Operation of Various Types of Bodies Performing Inspection
• AC291 Accreditation Criteria for Special Inspection Agencies

Getting accredited involves an assessment of our inspection procedures, the competence of our inspection staff, and our reporting procedures. Vortex Fire (Dubai) have demonstrated competence to perform special inspections required as per the UAE Fire and Life Safety Code of Practice (2018 Edition), 2018 International Building Code (IBC) and NFPA 5000 Building Construction and Safety Code (2018 Edition).

The ISO 17020: 2012 and IAS AC291 accreditation is a mandatory requirement as per the UAE Fire and Life Safety Code of Practice for House of Expertise or any consultant or engineer undertaking independent third-party inspection of fire and life safety systems.
